Insurance at the point of sale can boost consumer retail spend

Recent retail industry research suggests that offering insurance and warranties can not only be an additional revenue stream in itself, but can also boost the volume and value of each purchase.

We found that 60.1 percent of surveyed eCommerce shoppers say they would purchase insurance coverage for their online purchases if it were given the option by retailers at checkout, but only 41.3 percent were offered coverage the last time they shopped online.
